About Me

As a city planner turned product designer, I’m fascinated by the relationships we build with our physical and digital environments.

I think everything we experience deserves a bit of intentionality behind it, whether it’s a sidewalk or “submit” button. If us humans are going to have an experience with something, why not make it a good one?

Off the clock, you can find me rearranging furniture, watching obscure documentaries, or chronicling what I cook with very silly, very gif-laden videos. Here’s a sneak peek into my shenanigans:

My Approach

👥 Remember the Audience

Everything I make has at least one audience. Whether that audience is me, my teammates, manager, client, or user, I'm always considering who's on the receiving end of what I'm creating. The high amount of care and attention I put into my wireframes and annotations is the same amount I put into stakeholder presentations or emails to my managers.

🧰 Keep a Toolbox Mindset

In my experience working at an agency building websites and products for over 50 clients, it was very easy and tempting to rely on the same old solutions every time I encountered a problem that seemed familiar. Refraining from relying on rigorous step-by-step processes freed me from the pitfalls of doing unnecessary work with every project. I focus on practicing my skills rather than perfecting a process.

🧠 Be Open-Minded

The biggest thing I appreciate in my work and in my teammates is the ability to be open-minded. I've found that some of my best work has been a result of getting feedback from people that were not expected to give "design feedback." I work best (and I think most of us work best) when there is transparency, respect, and trust in my team.

Kind Words

Feedback I've received from people I've been lucky to work with over the years:

Beyond being a thoughtful, thorough, insightful UX designer, Claudia meets or exceeds every single expectation I have for a creative here (or anywhere). Her poise, balance, skill, demeanor, care and ability to work through anything with anyone makes her a natural leader and someone that everyone wants on their team.

Claudia is very comfortable working through tough conversations both internally and with clients. I have witnessed her on multiple occasions challenge a coworker or client in a way that was insightful, respectful and then manage the ensuing conversation to ensure it was highly productive.

Claudia is friendly and knows her sh*t. She's punctual and doesn't have to be tracked down for requests.

She is respectful, engaged, curious, and has a good sense of when to stick with something and when to put a pin it if for later.

In every situation or team I've seen Claudia work on, she's been the key connective tissue to ensure that we are researched, our creative makes sense and it's smart for clients. She knows how to bring people together in a way that brings out their best talents and ensures an easy, stress-free collaboration.

Claudia approaches every project by jumping in and bringing her best thinking and problem solving. Keeping a fresh, open approach has been one key ingredient to why she's so successful here.
